Sono piccoli uccelli mwewpasseracei, lunghi tra 8 e 15mwfa cm. La loro caratteristica distintiva è rappresentata da un mwfqanello oculare bianco attorno agli occhi, a cui si deve il nome comune di "occhialino" (in mwfginglese "mwfwwhite-eyes").
